QTMRF 03 - QuickTime & Multiple Movie Files (1-May-95)

Q Is there a simple way to detach a QuickTime movie from its original file? I'm trying to place a copy of a QuickTime movie in my application's resource fork, which is approximately 40KB.

A There is an article about QuickTime cross-platform compatibility and multiple movie files in develop #17. John Wang's column in that issue should answer your question. You can use the technique presented in the column to extract a movie and put it into the resource fork of a different movie. The Developer CDs also include a code sample (and documentation for it) called Multiple Movie: The Multiple- Movie Capabilities of QuickTime. You might want to check these out.
